Food

We all eat it...

YUMMY!!! I love baking, cooking, chopping, stirring, smelling, and my favorite TASTING. thus the name for this blog! My favorite thing is to create new healthier versions of some not so healthy recipes. My husband is the lucky Ginny pig.

When people ask me what my diet is or how I eat... this is my philosophy!

  1. I try to eat as much natural food as possible. I typically don't buy "boxed or processed" food. If I do buy something in a box its usually all natural! I like to make sure I know what everything is in my food.
  2. Worry Not! I find when I worry and obsess over food and my weight. Its not good for many reasons. Food becomes my main thought all day long, and I sometimes eat more because of it.
  3. Fruits and Vegis... I eat lots of them! I try to make it the largest portion on my plate. I love all vegi's, cant really think of one I don't like!
  4. Calories... I do count calories in my head most days, sometimes I track them on the computer. After several years of counting calories on my weight loss journey, I have a general idea of how many I eat daily with out counting. But, sometimes I have to tighten the belt and start counting again.I think they should all be in balance... basically yes I might run a little more if I know I am going to indulge in something yummy later
  5. I try to stay away from all things white... flour, sugar...anything not made with whole grains and is not natural sugar (found in fruits)
  6. I allow myself to have FUN with food, whether is cooking up a new healthy recipe, revamping an old one, or fine dinning and not counting one calorie but enjoying each bite and the company I have!
If you are trying to loose weight... find what works for you, make it a LIFESTYLE not a Diet! I find that Diets don't last, but life changes do and they allow for splurges!
